I have had 15 years of bodywork practice experience in therapeutic and sports massage, acupressure, energy work, craniosacral therapy, and 1 1/2 years of physiotherapy training. Since 2002 my partner Jeff and our daughters Brook and Kate have made our home in Tasmania, Australia.
My yoga journey began in the early 1980’s as a very inflexible and stressed student at Auckland University in New Zealand. I knew immediately that in yoga I had found a practice that would offer a lifelong journey toward the freedom and opening that I yearned for. The process of yoga practice and guidance of teachers including John Friend, Janet Hochfeld, Judith Lasater, Sianna Sherman, Mitchel Bleier, Angela Farmer, Victor Van Kooten, Amanda McMaine, Donna Farhi, and Nicky Knoff inspire and guide my yoga journey and for this I am truly grateful.
Teaching, for me, has evolved naturally from my body therapy practice where I shared yoga principles with clients. My first yoga teacher training was in 1990 with IYTA in New Zealand and I began practicing and training to teach in the Anusara tradition in 1999 in the USA where I lived from 1993 until 2002. Anusara Yoga offers a joyful, challenging, freeing way to practice, one which resonates with both my heart and my intellect, and so it is primarily from this foundation that my teaching emerges. I am grateful to John Friend for his teachings and guidance on my path of service.
It is my deepest intention and aspiration to offer yoga so that others may open their bodies, minds and hearts to reveal and live their potential and shine brightly in all aspects of their lives.
