Since my teen years I have been seeking, exploring, and enquiring within my self and without. Yoga has been an important part of my life since I was 17 and I consider myself blessed to be stronger and healthier in body, clearer and quieter in mind, and more courageous and fuller in heart in my 50’s than at any other time in my life.
Dani has completed a two-year yoga teacher training course with Kate Pell from West End Yoga Studio in Brisbane, completed a Yoga for Pregnancy training in 2007, and holds Level 2 yoga teacher certification with the Yoga Teachers Association of Australia.
“I moved to Melbourne at the age of 15 to follow my love for classical ballet. I studied dance, human movement and completed my VCE at the Victorian College of the Arts. After 5 years in Melbourne, dedicating my life and body to dance, my career and life path ended due to irreparable shin fractures. This was a life crushing moment for me and drove me back to Tasmania to seek solace with my family. Shortly thereafter, I feel in love, got married and had 3 beautiful children. Here is where I started looking for something to move and energise my body, still my mind and provide the feeling of total freedom that I used to experience when I was dancing. I found yoga, or perhaps yoga found me…
My first experience with yoga was in 1999 shortly after I moved to Tasmania from Sydney. I have had some wonderful teachers over the years who have shared with me yoga’s great gifts of connection, ease and transformation. I joined Lee Cody’s classes in 2007 and through her was inspired to start a regular home practice. The expansion continued under Clare Raffety, with a 6 month Elemental Yoga Immersion in 2013, followed by her comprehensive, challenging and deeply satisfying Elemental Yoga Teacher Training.
I love that this yoga practice works on so many levels.
